Book Review - Zodiac Academy: The Awakening
3 stars
Tori and Darcy are twin sisters who just discovered their true bloodline. Fae. This means they're screwed since both only lived in the mortal realm and know nothing about The Zodiac Academy and their royal blood. They discover their hidden powers and have to fight to fit in the academy with four princes trying to force them back home.
My favorite character was Tori, she was so brave and grumpy! I wasn't expecting anything like that, I really liked Tori's romantic prospect and their dynamic. I liked the world build and the angst of the bullying, I liked the academy setting and the way they had real classes, it was pretty cool.
However, I didn't like Darcy's romantic prospect or her in general, she was way too kind in a world ready to swallow her whole. I didn't like the way they never had enough power to beat the boys and were just dragged around by everyone.
Overall I liked the book and I'm eager to begging the next one. I had a bit of a Harry Potter vibes because of the Houses and the academy setting but it was just it. I expected the boys - at least their love interests - to soften up a bit but it didn't happen, it's not exactly a bad thing just a little letdown. I would recommend this book to readers who like bullying romance, obviously, and stories with lots of angst. A book with a similar academy setting I read once was "The Fae & The Fallen" by Brittni Chenelle and I highly recommend it too. That's it, bye!
gonna read it
